👤 HOW TO REGISTER

This tournament is only open for players in these regions: Canada, United States of America. Please only sign up if you can make the LAN on August 31st, September 1st and September 2nd at the UBC Nest. You DO NOT need to be a UBC or SFU student to join!

1. After creating an account, click Join Tournament above.

2. Join our Sunset Series 2024 Discord server. Players are required to use the voice channels in this server for the duration of the tournament. For questions and situations requiring admin assistance, please use the #support channel in the server.

3. You must be registered on the Community Gaming tournament page AND the Player Registration Form to be considered for full registration. A member of the admin team will reach out to confirm registration.

👤 RULES

1. It is the responsibility of each participant to arrive at the event on time, free from the influence of alcohol or unprescribed narcotics.
2. Every player must sign up with their main/highest ranked account and that account must be trackable (be visible on Tracker.gg).
3. Eligible Participants must compete to the best of their ability at all times during the tournament. Every participant is expected to know and understand the Official Rules during the tournament period. Any form of cheating will not be tolerated and is subject to immediate disqualification from the tournament and club ban at the discretion of the event administrators.

The LAN will be held on August 31st, September 1st and September 2nd at UBC (Vancouver, BC).

Please refer to our Sunset Series 2024 Valorant Official Rulebook and Player Agreement for a comprehensive guide of our expectations. All participants must abide by the rules in the above two documents.

Participants must inform tournament administrators of any potential issues immediately as they occur, via Discord DM or flagging the match on Battlefy.

Teams and/or players using ExitLag are subject to our ruling regarding ping equity.

🎮 DOUBLE ELIMINATION FORMAT

The format of the tournament will be double elimination, with the Top 8 advancing to LAN in late August / early September 2024.

Capped at 32 teams. Matches are BO1 with the Grand Finals being a BO3. Please refer to our Sunset Series 2024 Valorant Official Rulebook for the map veto rules.

Once there are 8 teams remaining, the subsequent matches will be played out for seeding. These matches must be played out without forfeit. Please ensure that your team has registered substitutes in the event a player cannot play.

It is the team captain's responsibility to contact the enemy team's captain and co-ordinate creating a custom game lobby for each tournament match.

Regarding ‘No-Shows’: should a team not have a full team of registered participants 15 minutes after the scheduled match time, they may choose to play without their full roster or forfeit. Late arrivals may not enter a game that is in progress.

Day 1 (July 20th): Check-in period will start at 12PM PST. Matches will start at 1PM PST

Day 2 (July 21st): Check-in period will start at 11AM PST. Matches will start at 12PM PST

🏆 PRIZE POOL

The total prize pool for the 2024 Sunset Series LAN is $1000 CAD and is subject to increase depending on sponsorships. The prize pool splits will be as follows: First place: 60% of prize pool, Second place: 30% of prize pool, Third place: 10% of prize pool

There is no prize pool for the qualifier.

Q: How do I sign up? Q: What patch are we playing on? A: Latest patch

Q: Is there a registration fee? A: There is no registration fee!

Q: Can we use our own Discord calls for the event? A: No. Each team will be provided with a discord voice channel in this server

Q: How will teams be seeded? A: Teams will be seeded based on average rank and MMR

Q: How will smurf detection be done? A: All participants will provide tracker.gg profiles which allow us to analyze stats and account age.

Q: What is the bracket format for the qualifier? A: The format of the qualifier will be double-elimination BO1 *subject to change depending on number of sign-ups.

Q: How many teams qualify for LAN? A: The Top 8 teams will qualify

Q: What server are the games being played on? A: The server shall default to Oregon unless both teams agree on a mutual server
