Upcoming Evo 2024 sets new record for largest esports event

Evo 2024 has officially become the largest esports event in history, with a record 10,224 registered players from 63 countries set to participate. Taking place from July 19-21 in Las Vegas, Evois the world's premier fighting game tournament, featuring titles like TEKKEN 8, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. This year's event marks a significant milestone by growing out of the Mandalay Bay into the Las Vegas Convention Center and continuing to expand its global reach.

According to Evo’s announcement, Evo 2024 will also set new entrant registration records for individual title tournaments like TEKKEN 8, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, and this year’s “Throwback Game” Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. Read the official news post here.

Red Bull Home Ground series expands qualifiers to North America

Red Bull has announced its first-ever North American qualifier for the popular Red Bull Home Ground series, set to take place at Fremont Studios in Seattle on September 29, 2024. The innovative Red Bull Home Ground format allows Valorant teams to choose their "Home Ground" map, with the series ending if a team wins both initial maps; otherwise, it proceeds to a best-of-five format.

Five top VALORANT teams from the region will compete, with Cloud9 confirmed as the first invited team. The remaining four teams will include three direct invites and one from an open online qualifier. The event features a $20,000 prize pool and the opportunity to advance to the global finals in Berlin. Further details on participants and additional teams to be announced in the coming weeks. XBox Game Pass coming to Amazon Fire Stick

In an exciting cloud gaming announcement, Microsoft has partnered with Amazon to bring Xbox Gaming to Amazon Fire TV Stick, allowing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to play games without a console or PC. This new feature enables subscribers in over 25 countries to use the Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2023) and Fire TV Stick 4K (2023) to access the Xbox app and play games via cloud gaming. This makes gaming more accessible and affordable for those who do not own a console or a high-end PC.
