G2 Esports sweeps Fnatic to clinch LEC Summer Playoffs win

On July 28th, G2 Esports emerged victorious in the 2024 LEC Summer Playoffs, sweeping Fnatic 3-0 in the finals to claim their 15th regional championship. This win secures G2's position as the first seed from the LEC at Worlds 2024.

G2's playoff journey included sweeping Karmine Corp and Team BDS before losing to Fnatic in the upper bracket finals. They made a comeback by beating Team BDS in the lower bracket finals to face Fnatic again in the Grand Finals. G2 takes home €40,000 and secures their Worlds spot, while Fnatic, earning €25,000, will compete in the LEC Season Finals for another chance to qualify for Worlds. Crazy Raccoon wins Overwatch 2 tournament at the Esports World Cup

Japanese team Crazy Raccoon claimed victory in the Esports World Cup for Overwatch 2, decisively defeating Toronto Ultra in the finals. Crazy Raccoon showcased their dominance throughout the event, losing only two maps. Although Toronto Ultra performed well, they were outmatched by Crazy Raccoon’s exceptional play. Crazy Raccoon, established in 2018, only entered the Overwatch 2 scene this year but quickly made a mark by winning the OCS 2024 Major.

The team’s roster includes renowned players such as CH0R0NG, Shu, and Lee 'LIP' Jae-won, who have significant achievements in the Overwatch scene. Despite a close map win by Toronto Ultra on Runasapi, Crazy Raccoon ultimately secured the win and an impressive $400,000 prize. Gen.G and Team Heretics start off Valorant Champions Seoul with wins

Gen.G Esports began their Valorant Champions Seoul campaign with a commanding victory over Sentinels, defeating them on Haven (13-8) and Ascent (13-7). This win allowed Gen.G to redeem themselves after a prior loss to Sentinels in the VCT Masters Madrid final. This win advances Gen.G to Group B's Upper Bracket Final, where they will face Team Heretics, who took a win off of FunPlus Phoenix later in the day.
